Day Three - Banteay Srey 1/2/07
Although Banteay Srey was constructed in the late 10th century in some ways the detail of the structure is much more intricate than other more recent temples in the Angkor Wat complex. The name of temple which translates to 'citadel of the women' is likely is a reference to the delicate carvings throughout.
The temple is also distinct from many other temples in the complex due to its pinkish sandstone color.
