Final Day in Bangkok - 1/5/07

The highlight of my last two days in Bangkok were a meeting with someone at an organization called RECOFTC for my thesis and a visit to Wat Po. Wat Po is a temple that has a Thai massage school on the premises so I put up the 360 baht (about $9) and treated myself to a much needed one-hour massage. Not a bad way to end three weeks of research, temple-trekking, and contemplation.

The many spires at Wat Po.

To give you a sense of the detail in the designs.

The famous golden reclining Buddha. It is nearly impossible to get a photo of the entire Buddha. Here is the head only

Leave it to the Thais not to miss any opportunity for ornamentation, this is the back of the Buddha's head! Beautiful!
