Anne Visits Switzerland

My last two weeks in Geneva were busy and fun. I went to so many new places. With only 2 weeks left to go before returning to Tokyo my sister Anne came for a week. After a trans-atlantic flight from Boston I quickly whisked her off on a train ride from Geneva to Interlaken to make the most of my 3-day weekend.

Interlaken is a beautiful town and while the weather was only nice 1 out of the 3 days we made the most of it. We found a great restaurant on our first night and enjoyed eating outside and with a street musician providing the tunes for a wonderul ambiance. This pic is the view of Jungfraujoch (our destination for later in the weekend) from our lodging the first night.

The next day we went to a castle 30 min by bus from Interlaken. It had amazing gardens and many rooms to explore.

This is of the Turkish room at the very top of the castle, we speculated that they must have had some amazing parties up there. You had to walk an extra two sets of staircases to get up to the place and there was a great view of the lake from the top as well. Kind of strange to find such a room at the top of a 14th century castle.
