Trip to Maine - August 2010 - Nephews (2)

Part of the timing of my trip this year was to coincide with my brother Eric and his family's lakeside holiday in Maine. As the 2 non-resident Mainers in the family we often have different schedules and make it to Maine at different times of the year. As a result this was the first time that all of us in the family were in the same place as the same time for several years.

It was also a great opportunity to see my nephew William, who is four and a half and loads of fun. William is a very articulate and very energetic boy who (I am happy to say) has also started playing my favorite sport, soccer (or as the Danes say fodbold). I hadn't seen William since he was two and a half so it was great to get to know him a little better. Here is William at the lake...

This trip home was also special this year because it was the first time meeting my youngest nephew, Jak (short for Jakob). Jak was only two months old when I arrived but was full of charm, as cute babies have an incredible talent at doing :-). Here is a three generation photo of Jak with his grandfather and great-grandmother.

William seemed to like Jak and has gotten into a habit of calling him little Jaky. But given how tall little Jaky's Daddy (see pic below) is, he might not be "little" for very long ;-).

Lastly, this is a rather blurry photo but one of Jak that cracks me up laughing everytime I look at it...
